About Us

Kalyania has successfully completed 27 years of dedicated service to "Making Life Better". It is run by a group of like-minded individuals including retired Professors, Doctors, and Professionals from various fields. Founded in 1998, Kalyania focuses on providing a supportive environment for the underprivileged living in the township's fringe areas by empowering them through free quality education, vocational skill development, holistic elderly care and accessible healthcare. Registered under the West Bengal Act XXVI Act of 1961, Kalyania has grown over the past three decades from a small initiative into a multifaceted Social Service Organisation.

Social Co-operative Activities

Social Co-operative Activities
  • Kalyania-Reformatory contract to foster hidden talents from among prisoners in music, art and other activities.
  • NCC-Kalyania partnership where NCC provides support to seniors and school goers
  • Merit-Cum-Means scholarships (21) to bright, poor children.
  • Stage performances by present and past students on various platforms are invitation based, includes Independence Day, Republic Day parades.
  • Offer based other NGO participation to Support Kalyania's activities, e.g. eye care, senior care etc.

  • For Seniors (above 60) - All berths (27) occupied - it provides A HOME AWAY FROM HOME (1998-).
  • Special attention to food, health care, other mental props.
  • Friday prayers organised by Kalyania's Ladies Forum.
  • Sarodotsava and Sri Panchami organised in scale by seniors and others each year.
  • Outings, site visits, picnics etc. to add cheer in their lives.

Kalyania Society, initiated in 1998 by a group of like-minded persons, has survied the onslaught of time over twenty years now and has grown and consolidated its activities directed towards the poor living in fringe areas of the township and the rudderless seniors.
